San Fernando Valley Cluster VESPERS!

Unitarian Universalists from the five congregations in our San Fernando Valley “Cluster” will gather for an evening of inspirational words and music woven around a spiritual theme chosen by your area ministers.  Invite a friend and enjoy this special opportunity for mid-week shared worship, followed by refreshments and fellowship.  Mark your calendars now and stay tuned for details (including location).

An interactive workshop designed to help our congregations connect with one another, to identify leadership challenges, and to share creative solutions!

YOUR CLUSTER COMMITTEE IN ACTION!

Over sixty Unitarian Universalists from all over the San Fernando Valley Cluster joined together on 09/11/10 for the Cluster-sponsored ”Welcome Back Potluck Picnic Shindig“, held on the grounds of the Sepulveda Unitarian Universalist Society.  A beautiful Welcome Table display oriented guests to volunteer opportunities at the event, provided information in support of water justice and the SFV Cluster Vespers (planned for 7:30 pm on 10/27/10 – also at SUUS), received school supply donations to benefit North Valley Caring Services, and invited guests to start off the new church year by posting their hopes and intentions.   The day included food, games, storytelling and karaoke, but also an Ingathering Worship Service in honor of and in support of religious diversity, freedom and tolerance.

Three times a year one of our participating Cluster congregations hosts a special weeknight Vespers Service.  Ministers, lay leaders, musicians and choir members from each of our congregations weave together inspirational music, readings and homilies.  This is a refreshing mid-week opportunity to rediscover the healing power of our wider circles of Unitarian Universalist community. We, the San Fernando Valley Cluster Committee, recognizing ourselves as part of a larger fellowship joined in the common goal of cultivating and enhancing congregational connections and shared learnings, covenant to work together in a supportive spirit of cooperative commitment, to be honest with one another, compassionate and accepting of differences, to engage in democratic process, to support our work by keeping one another focused on our agenda as we have fun together, to be respectful and responsible, showing up for one another on time and prepared.
